Founder of an artistic movement recognized for its deep and concentrated color palette, as well as for its evocative power of objects and landscapes from its immediate surroundings, the painter Gheorghe Petrascu (1872 - 1949) received numerous awards throughout his life and was exhibited posthumously at the Venice Biennale and the International Exhibition in Paris.

His canvas paintings have been sold in galleries in Bucharest and London for prices ranging between 10,000 and 60,000 Euros.
