Hans Memling (1430 – 1494) was a German painter who lived for most of his life in Flanders. His works include both portraits and diptychs - works consisting of two panels that open and close like books.

His work "The Wings of a Triptych: St. Christopher and St. John the Baptist" was sold in 2010 in London for $237,000 USD.
