The Fine Art Imaging studio was established in 2011 in Prague. Founders Flavia and Razvan set out to become allies to visual artists in search of a printing solution that respects high-quality standards and faithfully reproduces the beauty of their works.
Using the best available technology in accordance with the International Color Consortium standards, they help photographers, graphic designers, and painters from around the world discover the qualities and benefits of giclée techniques.
In 2013, Flavia and Razvan moved to Montreal, and opening a Fine Art Imaging studio there was a natural step, given the scale of the North American artist community.
In 2016, Flavia and Razvan returned to Romania, where the Fine Art Imaging story continues.
Fine Art Imaging & Brukenthal
The collaboration between Fine Art Imaging and the Brukenthal National Museum in Sibiu began in 2013, driven by the desire to popularize Romanian and European cultural values and to transform classical art into works accessible to the general public. Thus, through the MyRomanianArt collection available on the Galeria Mea website, enthusiasts now have the opportunity to purchase reproductions with a very high degree of fidelity.
The process of creating giclées is extremely meticulous, with each stage playing its role and needing to be meticulously followed to ensure that the result is truly worthy of the original.
It all begins at the Brukenthal Museum, where the artworks are meticulously photographed using high-resolution equipment to capture every brushstroke, transition, and chromatic nuance. The angles are carefully studied, and nothing is left to chance. The procedure takes place under specific controlled lighting conditions.
Then, at the Fine Art Imaging studio, Flavia creates the perfect digital file, paying attention to colors, details, and ensuring that they faithfully represent the original. Subsequently, the giclée reproductions are printed on Hahnemühle paper or canvas and treated with UV protection lacquer, guaranteeing that each artwork retains its appearance for a minimum of 70 years.
Each reproduction comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Brukenthal Museum and identified by a serial number in the hologram.
MIRROR EXPOSITION
Unveiled in October 2013, at the Romanian Art Gallery of the Brukenthal National Museum, the "In the Mirror" exhibition marked the launch of the collaboration between the museum and Fine Art Imaging. During this event, original works by renowned painters such as Nicolae Grigorescu, Ștefan Luchian, Nicolae Tonitza, and Misu Popp were exhibited alongside giclée replicas, sparking the enthusiasm of visitors who were always surprised by the striking similarities between the pieces.
The success of the exhibition and the interest of the participants contributed to the growth of the partnership between Fine Art Imaging and the Brukenthal National Museum, expanding the portfolio of MyRomanianArt reproductions.
