Jan van Eyck (circa 1390 – 1441) was a Flemish painter in the Middle Ages. He is recognized for revolutionizing universal painting by introducing the oil painting technique and is one of the founders of the Northern Renaissance art school.
Jan van Eyck achieved incredible perfection in drawing forms, rendering materials, and representing human faces. His work "The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb," painted in 1432 together with his brother Hubert van Eyck, is considered the most appreciated and coveted painting in the world.
Van Eyck's creations are valued at impressive prices, around 500,000 Euros.
